Alien Contagion: Rise of The Zombie Syndrome

.

I did this show with a friend last night.  I use the term "did," as it is an interactive theatre production.  My friend was e-mailed a locale and time, telling us to meet, as we had been assembled for a project.  I don't want to be accused of spoiling anything, so I will limit myself to a few details.  We were told to dress for the elements, as we might have to walk for a while.   The message was also relayed that a flashlight might be of help.

.

At the stated time, we went to the stated place.  We were a few minutes early, as were the others.  We quickly found ourselves speaking with others, as there were several very easy going types who were up for an adventure.

.

Our team was given an assignment---to stop an alien contagion.  Using clues and having to rely on the people we had just met, we took on our mission.  We ended up being in a park by a lake, with vast areas of darkness and....zombies.  The zombies chased us, so there was running in the dark involved.

.

This turned out to be great fun and it was a different way to spend an evening.  The people involved are actors from  Vancouver as well as drama students from local schools..  The costumes and especially the make up were really good.    Without giving anything away, there are special effects.

I highly recommend that people who like science fiction and horror take on the mission.  Just don't eat too much before you do so, as there can be running.  Finally, wear non slip foot ware and know that you're going to get a tad dirty if it's been rainy.  Enjoy acting out that role you've been assigned.
